Makueni – Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has once again signaled to unite with the leader of the party Wiper Democratic MovementKalonzo Musyoka, in 2027.
Why should Kalonzo get 4 million votes?
Speaking in Mbooni, Makueni county, Wednesday, December 18, Gachagua challenged the leader of the Wiper party to double the vote in the Ukambani stronghold to get the support of Mt. Kenya region.
The former vice president encouraged Kalonzo to lead the voter registration efforts in the Ukambani region to enable their coalition which is expected to win the 2027 presidential election.
“Leadership and politics is about the number of people. You need to register as voters. I want to challenge you to know that if you want us to be together in the government, you must register all the young people to vote. Do not wait until the last minute. Register enough votes. We have done the calculations, so that you win presidency, you must get fifty percent plus one more vote. You people of Ukambani should now increase your votes in Kitui, Machakos, Makueni and other areas to reaching between 3.5 and 4 million,” Gachagua said.
According to Gachagua, Mt Kenya area will give 10 million votes, which he said will be enough to form the next government.
“After reaching that number, look for me; in our area, we want to have 10 million; you must reach four million, and if you want us to form a government together, you must ensure that young people register as voters,” he added.
