The ex-wife of a Ugandan music legend, Jose ChameleoneDaniella Atim, has opened up about their breakup citing the singer's excessive drinking as the main reason.
In a candid interview with Bukedde, Atim shared that Chameleone's drinking was excessive, causing him to return home late and in an unusual manner.
The mother of five children explained that the situation could not be tolerated, forcing her to make a difficult decision.
“I left him because, at times, Jose was drinking too much. That's the truth. There were times when he came home in the morning. There were times when he came home at nine o'clock in the morning, at five o'clock in the morning, and sometimes at noon, too drunk amount,” he revealed.
Atim explained that he confronted Chameleone about the behavior, hoping that he would change for the sake of their family.
“I sat him down and asked him what was really bothering him. What made you drink like that? He had no reason. I told him the children have grown up and he can't continue to live like that with children. I gave him time and I didn't see any change,” he said.
Failing to see any improvement, Atim decided to leave, giving Chameleone the choice between alcohol or his family.
“As I was leaving, I told him to choose between alcohol or me and the kids. So I left,” he concluded.
