In what he described as “one man government,” Gachagua claimed that Ruto they make unilateral decisions and make ministers mere puppets.

Speaking on Inooro TV on Sunday, December 15, he claimed that the ministers do not have the authority to make decisions and are restricted by stamping the seal of the president.

“The president runs the country like a one-man show. These ministers you see are just flower girls – they have nothing to say. Even changing the Council of Ministers is meaningless unless the president himself changes or is replaced,” Gachagua demanded.

Where did the conflict between Gachagua and Ruto occur?

Gachagua also highlighted the reasons behind his conflict with Ruto, which he attributes to his removal as deputy president.

According to the former MP for Mathira, their disagreement lasted for a year and was due to his opposition to controversial government projects.

One of the controversial issues he highlighted is the implementation of the Hustler Fund. He criticized the plan to provide small loans of KSh 500, which he claimed failed to address the needs of ordinary Kenyans.

“I would go to Karatina, and people would ask me, 'What business can you start with KSh 500?' I told him, 'My boss, this Hustler Fund is pissing off the very people we promised to help. We have abandoned them',” he demanded.

He added that he refused to be 'yes sir' and told the president that the country was going bad, but allegedly he mocked him and got angry.

Gachagua asked Ruto to rethink his attitude towards leadership and listen to the concerns of ordinary Kenyans instead of dismissing criticism.
