Oscar Sudi Announces He Will Not Participate in Church Donations 2025: “No One Should Try to Bring Me a Church Card”

Sudi made a speech on Sunday, December 15, 2024, when he gave away motorcycles to youth groups in his constituency.

“Investing in our youth is the same as investing in our future. By providing these motorcycles, we are not only empowering individual youth but strengthening our community. These young entrepreneurs will now have the tools to earn a sustainable livelihood, raise local businesses, and contribute to overall development of our country,” Sudi said on his Facebook post.

He used the opportunity to encourage Kenyan youth to embrace opportunities to earn income without discrimination and to condemn laziness.

“Many of these young people you see don't want to work. But you only hear about them TiktokFacebook. Everyone has to work to eat, there is no short cut (Many young people don't want to work. Sudi said young people have luck that churches have refused donations from politicians, and starting next year, all their donations will be directed to youth empowerment.

The Kapseret Member of Parliament added that in the new year, his financial support will be directed to individuals and organized groups instead of church leaders.

“This one who is going to the church, let's just go empower him inside the church, so that he has an offering to give to each other (We will empower the church partner, so that he even has an offering to give)” he said.

That member of parliament UDA he warned that from 2025, no one should approach him with an invitation to a church fundraiser or ask for a donation. He announced that his money will be directed to the youth, women, and the elderly only.

“No one should try to bring me a church card, please, I'm begging you. Plan for me the words of empowerment, for young people, for mothers, for the elderly (No one should bring a church invitation, please. Plan for me the empowerment of young people, women, and the elderly),” he said.

Sudi, a close ally of President William Ruto, said that religious leaders have accused them (politicians) of carrying cash in sacks.

He claimed that now is the time to direct the money in another way instead of the church.

Earlier this month, the Catholic Church hit the headlines after rejecting cash donations from President Ruto and other politicians.

The MP from Kapseret criticized the churches for refusing donations, calling them hypocritical.

“They are just pretending. The church has no chairs, no CDF and no government resources, but you find others saying they don't want donations,” Sudi said.
