How the Migori county commissioner faced public outrage

For more than 30 minutes, Migori County Commissioner, Kisilu Mutua struggled to deliver the President's speech William Ruto and had to stop after riotous youths from both camps overwhelmed his speech with noise.

It took the intervention of Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko to quell the crowd.

“Please, let's put our differences aside and respect this day,” the governor asked.

“We must learn to tolerate each other and encourage them in areas of weakness,” he added.

His efforts bore some fruit and allowed the county commissioner time to continue giving the president's speech.

The rival groups began their fight, which provoked reactions from security officials, some of whom threatened to shoot in the air.

Why Rongo residents protested against their MP

This is happening in the grounds of Rongo Primary School a few days after some residents of the area protested against the local member of parliament Paul Abour for being mentioned in the parliamentary scorecard report by Mzalendo, which mentioned him as one of the members of parliament who regularly participate few in the activities of the Parliament.

The list had 19 members of parliament, two of whom were elected in Migori county; West Kuria Member of Parliament Mathias Robi was mentioned along with Abuor.

In his speech, the governor described the achievements of his administration, including the construction of 140 Early Development and Education (ECDE) centers, 26 newly built clinics, 30 wells across the county, and a 100-bed maternity unit in Nyatike Small Hospital. among others.

Elsewhere, Suna West MP Peter Masara led the Republic Day celebrations in Kababu.

He called on his voters who have not yet registered under Taifa Care to send their information quickly to the new Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) to get medical services.

“We have already paid for this service please send your information to SHA. I know many of our people do not know about this but we paid for the service until next year June,” he added.

Still, due to the hostility expressed by local government administrators, surprising events were witnessed in Nyandarua county, where the county commissioner was not accepted.

Things changed when the county commissioner Abdilasaak Jaldesa took the stage to deliver Ruto's speech.

Residents who attended were caught on video leaving the venue for protest.

The administrators were seen trying to persuade the public who withdrew to listen to the president's speech.

Some residents were heard shouting, “We do not want Ruto's speech, we have refused,” when they were leaving the field.

Others were heard singing, “Ruto must go.”
