A woman from Kobuya, Karachuonyo, Homa Bay county, is mourning the death of her 6-year-old daughter, Sharlene Blessing, who passed away at the end of November.
Lilian Akoth told TUKO.co.ke that Sharlene was playing with her friends and felt pain on November 7, 2024.
What happened to Sharlene Blessing?
“He was playing with his friends one afternoon when one of them hit him with a luck bad stomach for the ball. He came home and complained of stomach pain, but I thought it would go away after a while,” he remembered the mother.
When the pain worsened in the evening, the worried mother rushed him to the hospital, where he was examined and taken to the Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital.
“The doctor tried that night but he told us to take him to Homa Bay Referral Hospital because it was an emergency,” he explained.
Akoth noted that the doctors examined him and discovered that he had blocked the intestine and part of the intestine was rotten.
PP2 student Homa Bay dies in hospital
The little girl underwent successful surgery to repair her bowel in hospital but developed complications a few days later.
“Four days after the operation, he developed complications where the intestine was attached, and he had to undergo another operation, which was successful,” said the sad mother.
After the second operation, the grief-stricken mother said that her daughter did not show any change until she died.
The little girl who graduated PP2 in October and was expected to join First Class in 2025 was buried on December 5, 2024.
He urged Kenyans to pray for them during this difficult time.
“Pray for us because the situation is not easy to go through,” he said.
