The nation watched as the two leaders, once political allies turned adversaries, shared a sweet moment that ended in a hearty handshake, marking the thaw in their frosty relationship.
In a video that quickly went viral on social media, Ruto and Uhuru stopped for a photo session outside the residence of the former president.
The two seemed engrossed in conversation, with Uhuru gesturing to the side before turning to the camera.
The main thing came when Ruto, while smiling, thanked Uhuru for welcoming him.
“Thanks for the meat,” he said, referring to the food they ate during their two-hour meeting.

The meeting, shrouded in secrecy, attracted many people, including the property's staff and local security.
According to a Nation report, Ruto arrived in Ichaweri around 2:45 PM by helicopter.
A source revealed that the day started as usual until it ended unexpectedly, after which Ruto was taken to a private room for a meeting.
The secrecy spread to security officials in Kiambu region, with senior security officials revealing that they were surprised by the visit.
Why Uhuru does not eat roast meat anymore
As previously reported, while on international activities, Milele FM presenter, Ankali Ray, called Uhuru to wish him a happy birthday as he turned 63.
The father of three said he is fine despite rumors that he was fighting for his life in the city hospital and wished Kenyans all the best, encouraging them to maintain peace at all times.
He shared that he always celebrates his special day with family, children, grandchildren, and friends.
When asked about his favorite food, the former head of state revealed that it is roast beef, but his old age had health restrictions.
