Tharaka Nithi – An unexpected love affair stole the limelight at Tharaka University's graduation ceremony on Friday, December 6.
The event, attended by the Minister of Tourism and Wildlife, Rebecca Miano, along with other dignitaries, took a romantic turn when one graduate put an engagement ring on his girlfriend.
How the marriage proposal was at Tharaka University
In the viral video, the graduate is seen walking slowly towards his girlfriend while holding flowers.
Her boyfriend, who was unaware of the surprise, was led forward by his friend.
The graduate knelt down and handed him flowers. Initially, the woman was filled with emotion and covered her face with happiness before accepting the flowers.

The surprise continued when the graduate took the wedding ring, which surprised him even more.
After a moment of surprise, he smiled, accepted the ring, and said “yes.”
