Tanzia: Father, Son Killed in Stone Truck Accident

Zambia: A man and his son have died, while three others have been injured following a road accident in Luano district, Central province.

Wilson Munalula, 43, and his 18-year-old son, Joseph Munalula, died instantly from head injuries on Monday, December 2.

The accident occurred at Zambia Corner on the Masansa-Mboroma road when a truck carrying quarry stones overturned.

According to the witnesses of the accident, the driver failed to turn the corner due to high speed and caused the truck to overturn several times in the ditch on the right side of the road.

Passengers who suffered minor injuries were rushed to Masansa Mini Hospital for treatment.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to the Masansa Mini Hospital mortuary, awaiting autopsy and burial.

Central Regional Police Commander, Charity Munganga, and Luano District Commissioner, Kells Meleki, confirmed the reports.

Photos of the truck after it overturned showed it was badly damaged due to the weight of the quarry stones.
