According to NTV, the police arrived at the scene to stop the political rally, but the angry crowd chased them away.

“I am from Kiambu, and we are in Nyeri. We do not understand why they called us here. Then, after we got here, they told us that we had to go back to Nairobi,” Karungo said.

The tension in the area caused some residents to sing anti-Ruto songs, expressing their dismay at the administration of Kenya First.

“You know we are the victims. But we will not fight with officers, they are lower officers who are carrying out their duties,” Karungo said.

Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, Nyandarua senator John Methu, former Limuru MP Peter Mwathi, Juja MP George Koimburi, lawyer Ndegwa Njiru and other Mt Kenya leaders had accompanied the Kiambu senator.

Why did the DCI call Karungo?

The DCI summoned Senator Karungo for allegedly inciting chaos at the recent Limuru funeral, where Gachagua was present.
