A family is in agony following the sudden death of their close relative, who passed away on Monday morning, December 2.

Kiptoo's father speaks after his death

The 32-year-old was in his room when he was called to have breakfast by one of his family members.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, his grief-stricken father, Joseah Lang'at, said his first child struggled to reach the dining room.

“He walked a few meters from his room and went back after being overwhelmed, he was breathing hard and went back to his room, he fell on his bed and lay face down on the pillow, he was struggling to take off his shirt as he felt hot, looking for the best way to cool his body and breathe, but he could not,” he said.

What caused the death of Kipto?

It was not until Kiptoo's sister went to her brother's room to ask for a phone charger that she found him in a bad state.

He alerted the family, who rushed the graduate of Kabarak University, where he studied law, to hospital for treatment, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

“Kiptoo was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2017, but he was treated, he was fine until recently it seemed to return. The doctors said he died from lack of oxygen, we are very hurt. I have one son left, and it is a difficult time for us as a family,” he said.

Elsewhere, police were investigating the sudden and mysterious death of an elderly woman at the office of the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning in the city. Thika.

The 76-year-old woman suddenly collapsed and died while seeking care at the Sub-County Land Adjudication office.

Thika West Sub-County Police Commander Lawrence Muchangi said the woman was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
