What did Ruto say to the Kenyans who were celebrating the cancellation of the Adani contracts?
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the DEVKI Steel Processing Project in Manga, Taita Taveta county on Tuesday, December 3, he pointed out that some Kenyans are inclined to undermine the profile of potential investors in the country while glorifying those who contribute nothing to development.
Ruto dismissed the critics, claiming that many who celebrated the Adani and JKIA deal had no personal experience of the airport and opposed the projects without suggesting alternatives.
He also accused those who celebrate with ignorance and having wrong priorities.
“I saw people glorifying those who contributed to the cancellation of Adani-JKIA, calling them heroes, the roof of the airport is leaking, there are still those who celebrate that the Adani deal has been suspended, what benefit do you get when you stop the construction of the airport in your country, you still have no alternative solution, you have no idea how to build any stadium, you have no idea how it will be built,” the head of state said angrily.
What did Kenyans say about Ruto's answer about Adani?
Kenyans took to social media to respond to Ruto's remarks, with others suggesting that he seemed upset by the cancellation of Adani's contract with JKIA.
Some of them reminded Ruto that most of his supporters are rabble-rousers who cannot afford to travel by plane.
Ms Kanyi:

Web:
“Mr. President, most of those who voted for you have never set foot in Nairobi let alone the airport.”
