A close relative of Angela Moraa, a Kisii woman who was recently found dead with her boyfriend, has denied rumors circulating online that she was married in the United States.

In a heartfelt plea, Kenyan police officer Sammy Ondimu Ngare asked the public to refrain from spreading unverified news about the couple.

The family of the deceased explains the rumors about Angela Moraa's marriage

Ngare revealed that he received a call from Angela's close relative who explained her marital status.

“He is not married. She only had a child with a man in the United States, but they divorced,” he wrote on Facebook.

He condemned false narratives being spread on social media and stressed the need to respect grieving families.

The officer reiterated that Kenyans should let the police investigate and explain to the public what happened.

“Writing things without truth only increases the pain of both families,” he said.

How the bodies of Angela Moraa, Vincent were discovered

29-year-old Moraa and 28-year-old Vincent were discovered holding hands in their rented house a few days after their deaths.

Vincent's family, worried after several unsuccessful attempts to find him, visited him at work at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Vincent's cousin, Evans Nyambunde, narrated the plight of the family when they tried to call him many times, but his phone was switched off.

“When we asked at the hospital, we were informed that he has not reported to work since Wednesday (November 27),” he said.

The incident left the residents of Nyamataro in shock, while the local elder Yuvinalis Oyagi expressed his sadness at the tragedy.

He urged community members who are facing life's challenges to seek help instead of taking drastic measures.
