Kimani Ichung'wah accuses Gachagua of the riots that made him leave Limuru Park: “Respect the Bereaved”

Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung'wah expressed his disappointment with the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for attending the funeral of Erastus Nduati in Limuru, Kiambu, where chaos broke out on Thursday, November 28.

Why did Ichung'wah curse Gachagua to attend Limuru sails

In an interview with journalists, Ichung'wah slyly criticized Gachagua and his allies, accusing them of pushing a political agenda and ignoring the grieving family.

“I ask the politicians to stop the politics of the funeral, taking politics to the funeral shows complete indifference to the families of the deceased because you want to push your own agenda, I ask all of you first to respect those who have lost their loved ones,” Ichungwah said.

The majority leader in the National Assembly added that politicians who appear to be referring to Gachagua should refrain from seeking sympathy at funerals or churches.

“I want to condemn the chaos that broke out in Limuru. What happened that day was very shameful. Those who go to politics to seek sympathy at funerals should not do that or in churches. They should also respect themselves,” Ichung' wah said.

He also condemned the chaos in the funeral which caused many casualties and destruction of properties of unknown value.

“Let's act like celebrities. Let's honor the bereaved families,” Ichung'wah said.

What did the police say about the attack at Limuru's funeral?

In a separate incident, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja spoke about the chaos that broke out at a funeral in Limuru on Thursday, November 28.

Kanja highlighted the seriousness of the incident, noting that properties of unknown value were destroyed during the unrest.

Addressing the alleged kidnapping of Mwathi, Kanja confirmed that the National Police Service has not arrested him as he was not a person of interest in the case.

He also asked Kenyans who have information about the suspects who caused the unrest in Limuru to report to the nearest police station.
