Nairobi – Leader of the Narc-Kenya party Martha Karua has referred to his presidential ambition, and announced his intention to run for the country's highest seat in the 2027 General Election.

During the K24 debate on Tuesday, November 25, Karua expressed confidence in his ability to challenge the President William Ruto and emerge victorious.

The veteran politician said that he will intervene in the dispute and let Kenyans make the right decision about the vote.

“Am I not a person? Listen… look at my steps and don't force me to be a supporter. If I was a running mate, isn't that enough? I will put myself in the field, and it will be Kenyans who decide who among us is the right one,” he said.

In his remarks, Karua stressed the importance of a fair and competitive process in determining leadership, not only within the opposition circles but also nationally.

He called on the opposition to unite and come up with a competitive process to choose one of them as the 2027 candidate.

Karua challenged the Ruto administration, using the controversial Adani contracts to make his case for merit-based decision-making.

“For those of us who lean on one side of the opposition, if possible, let's all develop ourselves individually so that when the time comes, we have a method to choose one of us through competition and competition defending the competition. in tenders, even for things like the Adani tender, then the presidency should be competitive,” he said.

The veteran politician also dismissed the notion of anyone receiving a political ticket as a gift, stressing his belief in getting leadership positions through hard work.

How Gachagua plans to remove Ruto from office

On the other hand, the former vice president Rigathi Gachagua he hinted at creating a strong political movement before the 2027 elections.

He expressed his belief that the movement will help remove Ruto from office.

Gachagua also reiterated his commitment to protect the residents of Mount Kenya and their votes, saying that they will never be gambled away.
