Kericho – President William Ruto has emphasized that he will be committed to supporting churches through donations, emphasizing his long-term commitment to build houses of worship for more than 30 years.
Why will William Ruto continue to donate to churches?
Speaking during the church service at Kipsitet Primary School, Ruto encouraged the believers to remain strong in their faith and emphasized to them that he understands his responsibility as a leader and a believer.
In addition, the national leader shared his personal testimony about the importance of giving, explaining that through generosity he has been able to become the person he is today.
Ruto reiterated his support for churches, noting his belief in the power to change lives through giving.
“We understand the word of God enough to know that it is better to give than to receive, and that is what we will do. So, don't worry. We will unite and build our churches because I have been building churches for 30 years and I have never lacked because I know the secret of giving and beauty I am a product of giving and I know what I have to do.” he said.
Ruto's statements come following a debate that has emerged about his recent contribution to the Catholic Church.
A few days ago, the Archbishop of the Catholic Church Phillip Anyolo rejected his contribution of KSh 5.6 million along with an additional contribution of KSh 200,000 from the governor of Nairobi Johnson to the Soweto Church, citing violations of the church's directives on how to handle financial gifts.
Gachagua donates KSh 1 million to the church
In another statement, the former Vice President Rigathi Gachagua He donated KSh 1 million to St. James, Kiambu for the construction of the church.
The donation was presented by Senator Karungo Thang'wa who said that the money was a promise made by the former Deputy President to the institution.
The preacher accepted the donation and thanked him while the believers rejoiced.
