President William Ruto canceled the Adani Group's contracts with the National Airport Authority (KAA) and the National Electricity Distribution Company (KETRACO) on Thursday, November 21.

The Indian company had partnered with KETRACO to repair the electricity supply infrastructure and KAA to operate the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
After the president's decision to end the partnership with Adani, Kenyans flooded social media to express their opposition to the contract with the Indian company.
A video of a young resident of Kitengela claiming the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) was sold during protest of opposing the government has spread on the internet.

What did the young resident of Kitengela say?
In the video, the young man who seemed to be filled with anger while accompanying his fellow Kenyans during the protest claimed that the leading airport in the country had been sold to an Indian company.
“He is selling the country and we didn't know. He has sold the airport and we didn't know. He sold it to an Indian,” the young man said.
While expressing his opposition to the government Kenya Firstthe man said he believed it was time for the president to step down.
Justifying his participation in the protest, said the former President Uhuru Kenyatta he never tried to “sell” the airport and questioned why President Ruto was leading the demand for the sale of JKIA.
“We don't want to. Right now we are heading to the airport,” he said.
