Tragedy has struck a family in Turkana county following the mysterious death of their son who was a candidate for the Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

K24 TV reported that the student identified as John Ekalale who was a student of Talent High School went missing on Wednesday, November 20, after completing his Agriculture examination

According to fellow candidates, he was in good health, when he disappeared into the unknown.

His classmates looked for him after he failed to arrive for dinner, then they found him in his dormitory in a bad condition.

Ekalale was rushed to the Referral Hospital in Lodwar but died on arrival.

The head teacher of the school Samuel Otieno also confirmed that the KCSE candidate was healthy until he was found in critical condition.

“It is one student who has never bothered me since the first form, and I am also sick because he was also my friend, he had no disciplinary cases, so we school leaders say sorry to the family, I cannot. address other issues because the investigation is ongoing and we are also waiting for the results,” Otieno said.

The police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the death and have assured the public that authorities are committed to determining whether foul play was involved.

The family accused the school management of not handling the incident properly, leaving them in shock and demanding answers.

“We are saddened and disappointed by the school management for not immediately informing us about his condition,” a family member said
