Governor of Kirinyaga Anne Waiguru has asked police officers to quickly investigate the circumstances in which a female entrepreneur was stabbed.
Florence Wanjiku is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Nakuru.
She was said to be her lover, Elias Njau, a pastor in a church in Nairobi.
Waiguru condemned the attack and asked the police to trace the priest and bring him to court.
“With regret I would like to condemn the sad case of Nakuru, where a man assaulted his wife because of a domestic dispute. Whatever the disagreement, we should never resort to violence. Sexual violence has no place in our society. I call on the investigative authorities to arrest the perpetrator and ensure justice is done, I also pray for Shiko to recover quickly,” posted on X.
