What did the family of the old man of Endebess say?

The old man, who lives with disabilities, was smiling after reaching the milestone that took almost three decades to reach.

He was seen holding his ID, checking it as he looked in disbelief that he had finally received the important document.

In an interview with the newspaper standard, the man's wife, Irene Chemayek, expressed frustration due to the challenges they encountered in obtaining his ID.

She said she did not understand why her husband had applied for a national identity card many times without success.

“I don't understand what the problem was. He sent repeated requests without success. This now made our son get involved, thus enabling him to get an ID today,” Chemayek said.

Chemayek revealed that she had to list her children as fatherless on their birth certificates because her husband had no ID.

“I want to thank God because today I have seen the light. I had shown that I am a single parent because my husband did not have an ID,” she added
