Nairobi – Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has identified one of the cars he claims has been following him.
In a series of provocative tweets on Wednesday evening, November 20, Gachagua claimed government security agents were following him in unmarked vehicles.
Description of the car parked near Gachagua Karen's home
He mentioned the saloon car, which he claimed that some of his tormentors have been using to raid his homes in Nairobi and Nyeri.
After a quick search at the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) gate, Gachagua discovered that the vehicle had the registration details of a truck, suggesting its real number plate was being improperly concealed.
He disclosed that the vehicle in question was parked at the main gate of his Karen home on Sunday, November 17, and followed him to Kerarapon in Kajiado county, where he attended a service at the PCEA church.
“Last Sunday, a low saloon car parked at the gate of my residence followed me to the PCEA Kerarapon Church, followed me until I went to have lunch and came home! When I checked the NTSA gate, I realized that the numbers are registered to the truck,” Gachagua said.
At the same time, Gachagua expressed concern about his safety, suggesting that his followers could be cunning people.
Why did Gachagua open up to Kenyans about his ordeal
He pointed out that the tactics of the operatives were similar to the perpetrators of kidnapping and extrajudicial killings reported in recent days.
Therefore, Gachagua explained that he chose to share with Kenyans the injustice and threats he was being subjected to so that the government would be held accountable if any harm befell him.
At the same time, while seeming to have fresh grapes after being sacked, Gachagua sent an indirect message to the President William Rutoasking to be left alone as he was unjustly removed from power.
Gachagua seemed to wonder why the government is still following him even after he left his post; he asked to be left to live in peace like any other citizen.
