Murkomen: The agreement says Firat should leave
Speaking on Wednesday, Murkomen revealed that there was an agreement in Firat's contract that he would be fired if he failed to qualify for the AFCON.
“I know the agreement between FKF and the coach states that failure to qualify for AFCON will result in non-participation, as the ministry sponsored the contract, considering the circumstances of failure to qualify we will implement that part of the contract. agreement and stop providing more resources,” as quoted by Kevin Teya.
The CS, however, reiterated that it is the exclusive responsibility of the federation to hire and fire coaches. FKF is currently involved in a tough election, and the issue of Firat can be addressed by the team that will be elected on December 7.
Engin Firat's record as Harambee Stars coach
Firat has been leading the national team since 2021. He has recorded only three victories in the competition. If he is sacked, a new coach will be urgently needed as Kenya prepares to host the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in February next year.
Murkomen says Nick Mwendwa is not eligible to compete
In the FKF election, Murkomen has announced Nick Mwendwa as unqualified to compete again.

The Petra-Mwendwa ticket will face competition from eight other candidates.
