Why did the Catholic church reject William Ruto's donation?

In a statement on Monday, November 18, Anyolo cited the directives of the Kenya Catholic Bishops Council (KCCB) discouraging political donations to churches and using church events to promote themselves politically.

Nairobi Archdiocese said it will return the Governor's contribution Johnson of KSh 200,000 and President Ruto's contribution of KSh 2.6 million.

Anyolo continued to say that the church will not accept the promise made by the president of KSh 3 million and the parish bus.

“Therefore, the donations made to the Soweto Catholic Church on Sunday, November 17, violate these instructions and the law/ These include the governor of Nairobi donating KSh 200,000 to the parish choir and the Parish Missionary Council (PMC), the donation of president of KSh 600,000 for the choir and PMC and KSh 2 million for the construction of the father's house. This money will be returned to the relevant donors. Furthermore, the additional promise of KSh 3 million for the construction of the father's house, as well as the donation of the parish bus from the president have been rejected.” the statement said.

The White House is talking about refunding money to the Catholic Church

However, speaking to Citizen TV, the Speaker of the White House Hussein Mohamed he said President Ruto paid KSh. 2.6 million donations have not yet been received, despite the announcement of a refund by the Catholic Church.

“At the end of the day, we haven't received any money,” Hussein said.

Why Moses Kuria defended the Catholic bishops

Meanwhile, the former Gatundu South Moses Kuria he sided with the Catholic priests to deal with the recent scandal between them and the government.

The priests who make up the Catholic Bishops' Conference in Kenya held a press conference on November 14, where they took turns pointing out the alleged mismanagement of the president and his officials.

They highlighted every cell and agency in the government and eliminated their supposed incompetence.

The criticism led to attacks by senior government officials and other government supporters.

Responding to the events, Kuria, who is the Chief Advisor in the Council of Economic Advisers at the Nairobi Palace, seemed to disagree with his boss by saying that there is importance in the concerns raised by the Catholic priests.
