The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has released new notes with new features.
In a statement on Tuesday, November 20, the regulator said that the printing of new KSh 1,000 notes has begun.

The CBK said all current notes continue to be legal tender and will continue to be circulated alongside the new notes.
“We would like to inform the public that the issuance of KSh 50, KSh 100, KSh 200, and KSh 500 notes has also begun. Apart from the changes outlined above, all other features of these notes remain the same as those of the series launched in 2019,” CBK explained.
Why did CBK launch new notes?
The new generation concrete in Kenya is not only a matter of beauty but has a great impact, especially in the fight against corruption.
While launching the new notes, the CBK mentioned that the law enforcement officers found a lot of money in people's homes.
These notes bear images of the 'Big Five' and are also specially colored, giving them a unique theme.
A Nairobi man finds old banknotes
In other news, a Nairobi man asked for help and advice to exchange old KSh 40,000 notes given to him by his employer.
Samson Kipng'etich said he received the money recently from his employer, who told him to use it to improve himself if he could find a way to convert it into current currency.
However, he gave up after realizing that the Central Bank of Kenya could no longer accept old notes.
