Kariakoo, Tanzania: Tears flowed when the family, friends of the victims who perished in the collapsed building in Kariakoo market in Dar es Salaam looked at their bodies.
President Samia Solution Hassan he said 13 people died while 80 others were saved; the injured are receiving treatment.
According to the Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Albert Chalamila, most of the deaths were due to injuries sustained after the building collapsed.
In the video shared by Ayo TV, coffins are seen arranged in a line while people, including members of the community who had heard of the incident, walk and look at the bodies.
“The business community is also here to pay their last respects,” said the voice of an invisible person on camera.

In other news, it was learned that people outside the rubble made quick efforts to reach those trapped inside.
One video went viral TikTok it showed the trapped man sweating profusely and struggling to breathe, while his companions in the back cried for help and begged for air. Some people were trying to reach their loved ones.
The administration of President Samia Suluhu confirmed regular contact with those who were trapped, stressing their commitment to rescue efforts.
