Embu – Former vice president Rigathi Gachagua He has expressed his gratitude to the residents of Embu for showing him love in public.
On Saturday, November 16, Gachagua was among the leaders who attended the consecration of Bishop Peter Kimani of the Catholic Diocese of Embu.
Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, his successor William Ruto, and the Deputy President Kithur Kindiki also attended.
In the party led by the senior priests of the Catholic Church, the former DP was not seen in the VVIP welcoming section.
The former vice president sat with his fellow MPs from Mount Kenya in a separate tent decorated with a red carpet.
Although he was accepted by the bishops who were addressing the public, the former vice president did not get the opportunity to speak.
Gachagua later shared a video on social media where Nyeri Archbishop Anthony Muheria acknowledged his presence.
In the video, thousands of believers cheered for Gachagua after Archbishop Muheria read his name.
Quoting the video, the former vice president thanks the Embu resident for showing him love
“Thank you very much people of Embu for the love and warm welcome. I love you too,” Gachagua said.
