Why did Jackie Matubia's mother abandon her?
According to the mother of two, she was rejected immediately after birth because she looked different.
Matubia appeared in an open interview with Dr. Ofweneke, recounting the pain of abandonment.
“My mother went to Pumwani Hospital and gave birth to me, and when she saw me – because I was a black child with lots of hair.
She thought she had given birth to a monster,” he said.
According to Matubia, his aunt's comments exacerbated the issue.
“When my aunt came to see me, she said that I was a bad child.”
Matubia revealed that his mother abandoned him in Pumwani for three months. The actress said the terrifying experience is still ingrained in her.
“I was born in rejection, and it is something in me,” he said.
Matubia received great support from Kenyans, who sympathized with him.
