Murang'a – Another tragedy has occurred in the ongoing High School Examination (KCSE) in the country.
This follows the sudden death of a KCSE student at Gakui Secondary School, Murang'a County, on Tuesday, November 12,.
Kandara Assistant Commissioner, Peter Maina, said the girl fainted at school but died an hour later while receiving treatment.
“The girl was rushed to the nearest health center unconscious but with a heartbeat… She was admitted and efforts to save her life began. For luck bad, he did not manage to recover,” Maina said as reported by NTV.
He noted that the incident shocked the students at the examination center, but the administrators were able to restore calm.
The family of the deceased, through their spokesperson Martin Kamau, said the girl had high hopes in life and hoped for good results.
“Our girl was hopeful and expected to get good results in the exam. We accept God's will…we cannot change the situation. There are many questions…it is hard for us to believe that he is no more, but that is the reality. Pray for us,” said Kamau.
Kamau said the sudden death of the student has hurt the family to a great extent and they hope that the investigating agencies will issue a report that will clarify the death of their daughter.
“We have been told to wait for the autopsy report that will shed light on what happened until his body lost strength… patience and prayers are what we have now,” he added.

Citizen Digital reported that 19-year-old Moline Atieno died after battling kidney and heart problems.
According to the police report, Atieno was doing his exams from the Migori County Referral Hospital under medical supervision after being admitted on October 15.
Detectives from the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) visited the hospital for a preliminary investigation.
The body has been kept in the mortuary of the hospital, pending an autopsy.
