Mother of Grow up who lost his son who was taking the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam has spoken.
Jennifer Kambua was in the same room when her son, Cornelius Maundu Musyoka, passed away on Friday, November 8.
Kambua receives sad news from his son's school
He had been taken to the Makueni County Referral Hospital after his health deteriorated after falling ill.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, the grieving mother recalled receiving a night call from Dominic Kitise High School.
“The headteacher told me about my son's health condition. He was fine before the exams started, but at night, his health changed suddenly. He was coughing a lot and vomiting. He was taken to a nearby health center where they tried to deal with his condition. I was not able to go see him because it was night, so I said I will go see him the next day,” he said.
However, that night, Musyoka was taken to the Makueni County Referral Hospital after his condition worsened.
The next day, Kambua went to the hospital and arrived there at 10 in the morning to know the condition of his sick son.
“We had a conversation, but he was very sick. He had hoped to take a Chemistry test in the afternoon. However, the situation worsened, and he was taken to oxygen after realizing that the oxygen levels were low. 30 minutes later, he died. It was It's a pain in the ass, and I had high hopes for it.
I remember our conversation about him doing the exams after he got better but that won't happen anymore,said the mother of three children.
The family made a request for financial assistance to pay for the coffin and give their brother a dignified burial.
