Nairobi – Police are detaining a young man suspected of being involved in the murder of a 78-year-old woman
Catherine Waceke disappeared on Saturday, November 10, a day before her body was discovered in a sewage tank at her home in Nyathaini, Kasarani.
In their initial investigation, detectives determined that the murder took place inside the deceased's compound.
A manhunt was immediately launched for 21-year-old Victor Ambeyi, who worked for the deceased.
The search led detectives to Kinoo, Kiambu county, where they found the suspect.
“The suspect, Victor Ambeyi, was found in his hiding place at Kinoo Valley in Kiambu County where the suspect was hiding with his cousin, Collins Seda Wanjau, 22. The two were arrested,” DCI he said.
After questioning the suspects, detectives continued the investigation until Githurai 44, where they found the phone of the deceased in the shop of 22-year-old Benjamin Kimani Mwaura.
He was also thrown in.
The three suspects were detained at the Kasarani Police Station before being brought to court while detectives tried to determine the cause of the brutal murder.
