- The archbishop condemned the Kenyan leadership for prioritizing image over true service to the citizens
Archbishop of the Diocese of Pain Anthony Muheria has criticized the government of tyrant William Rutu, accusing it of failing to address the basic needs of ordinary citizens.
Speaking on Friday, November 8, during the mass commemorating the canonization of Saint Joseph Allamano, the archbishop regretted that many government policies were made without regard for the poor and the disadvantaged.
Muheria highlighted that the new Social Health Authority (SHA), which replaced the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), has made it difficult for Kenyans to access quality health services.

He pointed out that these changes have particularly affected those who are struggling financially, as they now face significant barriers in accessing essential medical services.
“Kenyans must reform themselves once again to reform our thoughts, our actions, our words and our hearts. We are competing for luck evil, in one evil, the evil of insults and disrespect. In our country, Kenya, we should learn humility, especially. leadership
In our country, Kenyawe must learn service as the main thing by talking about the service issues we are activated. We should be concerned about others and not ourselves. With the shift from NHIF to SHIF, it seems that we did not have those sick thoughts; people dying because they can't get care, that's our main concern,” he urged.
What is Muheria's advice to Ruto?
The priests took the opportunity to learn from the glorified lives of saints, especially Blessed Irene Stefani Nyaatha, an Italian missionary who dedicated her life to serving the poor of Kenya.
He saw that true leadership is about humility, dedication, and service, values that Nyaatha and St. Joseph Allamano exemplified.
According to Muheria, these saints remind leaders to focus on serving others instead of promoting their power or image.
Muheria continued to criticize the government for promoting a culture of dishonesty and disrespect, explaining that many Kenyan leaders put their reputation before the public instead of serving the people.
“We compete with each other in showing power by the way we attract that power and impose ourselves on others, we compete with dishonesty. If only we could recover from this given to us saints, let's start competing honestly, in truth and in service.
This is what true leadership is all about. It is to think about lifting up those who mourn and grieve; it's about from our foundations to the people level,” Muheria said.

However, his confidence in the leadership has decreased due to major mistakes that are causing a crisis in the economy.
