According to information that TUKO.co.ke saw, the DCI confirmed that George Mwenda Mutegi, the main suspect in Aluko's murder, had gone into hiding in the Kaanwa area of ​​Tharaka Nithi county.

“The arrest of the suspect was made by a group of detectives from DCI Hqs supplemented by their colleagues from Meru it is the conclusion of days of intensive investigation that started on November 1, the night Mutegi is believed to have killed his lover. After the horrific murder, Mutegi disappeared and wiped his tracks,” read part of the statement.

How did Aluko die?

Before her death, Aluko told her parents that she planned to stay with her boyfriend, Mutegi, in Kahawa West, and that was the last time she heard from him.

Hours later, her body was found with stab wounds at her boyfriend's house, leaving her family devastated.

The police confirmed that Aluko suffered several injuries, including facial injuries and a stab wound behind his right ear, then found a knife believed to have been used in the murder.

Following the incident, the lover disappeared, and the police launched a search for him.

What happened to Aluko's death?

In their investigation, the police found that the couple enjoyed their time in the same neighborhood on the night of the incident before going to the lover's house in Kahawa West.

DCI said that things changed when neighbors heard screams from Mutegi's house, which were drowned out by the noise of the radio.
