Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris faced Donald Trump in a political battle as they prepared for a dangerous 2024 race to the White House.

An expert has mentioned several factors that contributed to Harris's loss in a hotly contested presidential election.

Why did Kamala Harris fail in the 2024 US election?
In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, political analyst Mark Bichachi explained his view on the factors that could contribute to Harris' defeat in the 2024 race, and provided insights into the trends that may have influenced the outcome of the election.
Bichachi pointed out that one of the main reasons for Harris' failure was his late entry into the presidential race.
Harris entered the race after the current President of the United States Joe Biden to resign and approve him to run under the Democratic Party after the presidential campaign began.
This came after Biden's decision on Sunday, July 21, to end his re-election bid after facing weeks of intense pressure from Democrats.
Bichachi claimed that Harris's entry into the race came too late, as when he entered, Trump had already significantly outnumbered Biden.
While Harris' candidacy revived hope within the Democratic Party, the outcome was already largely decided.
Kamala Harris Awaga Manyanga, Cancels The Speech She Had Planned Following Trump's Miserable Failure
“We have to understand this election in its proper context. Trump's supporters were fully and emotionally invested in Trump. They knew his agenda, and they knew what he knew about concerns, immigration, LGBTQ issues and other anti-woke issues. Kamala, for on the other hand, he only excited the basis of democracy but it was not enough to get them emotionally invested in it,” he insisted.
The political analyst also pointed out weaknesses in Harris's campaign strategy.
He claimed that unlike Biden in his 2020 presidential campaign, who portrayed Trump as someone to be feared, Harris relied on the assumption that only democratic issues would ensure his victory. According to Bichachi, this bad move led to his failure
“Unlike Biden in 2020 who made Trump look scary, Kamala hoped that democratic issues including the abortion ban would be the main issues, it was not,” Bichachi added.
Bichachi also noted that Trump had advanced strategies in his campaigns, often using people's emotions to win their votes.
“Trump made Americans emotional about immigrants, their children being trans and of course even the pet issue made people emotional.”
Would Kenya be affected if Harris won the election?
In other news, political analyst who is also a lawyer Philip Mwangale told TUKO.co.ke that Harris' victory will affect Kenya because you will maintain the status quo.
As a member of the Democratic Party, Harris' victory in the election would put the Democrats in power in the United States.
Mwangale suggested that this could mean a bilateral agreement between Kenya and the United States, initiated by Biden and the President William Rutowould remain.
