Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, who is known to have had his fair share of ouster battles, seems to be happy about being removed from office by Rigathi Gachagua.
What did Mwangaza say about Gachagua being dismissed?
Speaking at the KICC hall following the swearing in of the new deputy president, Mwangaza expressed his support for him Kithur Kindiki.
He seemed pleased with the country having a new deputy president following the removal of Gachagua.
“I am very happy today that we have a new deputy president of the Republic Kenya. Most of Meru is happy and we thank God for that,” Mwangaza said.
He said that the people of Meru are happy with the President's choice William Ruto to be a deputy.
“It is strange in our eyes. Kindiki is our child, and we know that through his leadership and the leadership of our president, the whole country will be united,” he added.
He confirmed that he was among the country's leaders who congratulated Kindiki when the court removed the order preventing his inauguration.
