The 88-year-old said he will continue to enforce the law as long as possible.

Dr. Khaminwa is one of the longest serving lawyers in the country and is the oldest still practicing.

He told TUKO.co.ke that he has no plans to slow down as he has no pension.

“I have to work for my age because I still need money. I don't have a pension, and my stomach still needs food,” he said.

The radical lawyer has been highlighted in the media for his role in the ongoing case against the dismissal of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

In that case, Dr. Khaminwa represents the Law Centre, an advocacy group that has raised questions about the process that led to Gachagua's removal.

Dr. When did Khaminwa start working as a steward?

Born in 1936, the lawyer has more than 50 years of experience in the legal industry.

He started working as a lawyer in 1973 and has won several cases in his professional life, and involved in many high-profile cases in the courts of justice.

Dr. Khaminwa owns the law firm Khaminwa and Khaminwa Advocates, which he co-founded with his late wife, Joyce Khaminwa. The outspoken lawyer has also been involved in notable cases, including the famous “Nyalgunga” case where he represented Edith Wambui Otieno, who wanted to bury her husband, Silvano Melea Otieno, on their farm in Ngong', near Nairobi.

However, Melea's family insisted that he be buried at the ancestral home in Nyalgunga, County Siaya.

He is also known for representing prominent figures such as Jaramogi Oginga Odinga in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when Kenyans were fighting for political change and multi-party democracy.

In addition to his legal work, Khaminwa is recognized as a defender of human rights.

Some of the high-profile cases handled by this veteran lawyer include the 2022 case against the Reconciliation Initiative (BBI), where he represented the Human Rights Commission of Kenya and the Law Center.
