Uasin Gishu – Homa Bay Town Member of Parliament Peter Kaluma has assured President William Ruto that he and his party, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), will continue to support him and help him inherit Raila Odinga's political stronghold.
Kaluma said this during a service at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Moiben, where he expressed his faith in Ruto's ability to win the Raila in his quest to become the chairman of the African Union Commission (AUC).
In his speech, the member of parliament thanked for Ruto to support Raila, highlighting the unity and cooperation between their political factions.
He likened it relationship political between Ruto and Raila and that of the traditional African family, showing how Ruto supported Raila in difficult times.
“Let me express my sincere thanks for the support you give to the leader of our party in his quest to become the Chairman of the African Union Commission (AUC). Within the ODM fraternity, which you know, and among our people, which you know well, we always say father naked, and someone covers him with clothes, that person becomes your father if your father crawls and gives your father a stick, isn't he your father's friend?
When will Ruto inherit Raila's political stronghold?
Kaluma went on to reveal that if Raila gets his bid to become the AUC chairman, the ODM faction would undergo a change of loyalties.
The MP announced plans for the next meeting there Fever Baywhere Raila will officially hand over his political base to Ruto.
“Before he goes to Addis Ababa because we have never known that you have failed in anything; do you believe the president can fail to send Baba to Addis Ababa? Before he goes, you will come to Homa Bay and he will hand us over as his children to you,” Kaluma said.
Wandayi starts praising Ruto
Elsewhere, Energy Minister Opiyo Wandayi pledged his loyalty to Ruto, even after the 2027 General Election.
Wandayi said that he was once in the opposition but he realized that the country is more important than sticking to one political party.
