He expressed confusion and concern, questioning why the principal did not contact him directly regarding the matter, considering that the KCSE continues.

“My son, Abel Mwendwa, called me and told me that he was sent home for school fees. I tried to ask him why the principal didn't call before leaving, but he told me to confirm with the principal,” he told Citizen TV.

However, the principal of the school has denied claims that Mwendwa was sent home due to fees, which has raised questions about the circumstances of his departure.

How did the KCSE candidate drown in the pond?

Alexander Mwanzia, a witness to the incident, gave a horrifying account of Mwendwa's last events.

“I was the first to arrive and found the young man in the water without clothes. Before the rope could reach me to save him because he was so built, he had already drowned,” Mwanzia told.

As a result of these events, the Machakos police have launched an investigation to examine conflicting accounts from the family and the school as they search for answers in this tragic case.
