How much does a Ballon d'Or winner earn?

While the debate about whether or not the Euro 2024 winner was a worthy winner continues, attention will briefly turn to what the Ballon d'Or is worth to players.

It is important to note that there is no known prize money awarded for winning the Ballon d'Or. This means that Rodri, or Lionel Messi last year, and many other winners of the past, did not get a single penny for being crowned football royalty.

However, as Athletic explains, there are indirect rewards that come after winning the Ballon d'Or. A player is assured of success through endorsements and sponsorship deals and, depending on the contracts they have with their clubs, huge bonuses.
