Newspapers: Gachagua Arrives at the Court of Appeal to oppose the swearing-in of Deputy President Mpya Kindiki

This newspaper reported that officers from the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) have identified the main suspect in the brutal murder of three women in Eastleigh.

The victims—Dahabo Daud Said, Amina Abdirashid Dahir, and Nusayba Abdi Mohammed—were found dead in different locations. As the investigation continues, authorities have named 24-year-old Hashim Dagane Muhumed as the suspect.

“Officers investigating the brutal murder of three family members – a mother, daughter and 12-year-old niece – have identified the main suspect in the brutal murder, Hashim Dagane Muhumed, whose photo appears in this post,DCI it said in a statement.

According to DCI investigators, Dagane was caught on CCTV cameras driving a Nissan Note (Registration Number KDQ 718Y), which was seen picking up the victims from their Eastleigh home on October 21, 2024, hours before their bodies were found.

This newspaper reported on the move by the ousted Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, to file an appeal in relation to the ongoing impeachment case.

Gachagua has taken his request under an emergency certificate before the second highest court in the country.

The ousted vice president wants the appeals court to stop the hearing of two applications filed to cancel the orders to stop his removal from power and Kithure Kindiki to replace him as his successor.

“Prior to the hearing and decision of the intended appeal, this honorable court is requested to issue an order suspending the proceedings of the High Court in the Nairobi High Court in Constitutional case No. E565 of 2024 as shared by Kerugoya E013 of 2024, E014 of 2024 and E015 of 2024, Rigathi Gachagua and eight others against the speaker of the national assembly and 12 others,” reads his request.

He says that the three High Court judges, Eric Ogola, Freda Mugambi, and Anthony Mrima, they have shown favoritismo them for refusing to withdraw from the case.

Thus, they will not do him justice.

Kiswahili newspaper reported that the government of President William Ruto has returned the security guards of Rigathi Gachagua.

On Sunday, October 27, the ousted vice president attended a service in the County Kiambu with his guards and he was accompanied by many politicians along with his wife, Dorcas Rigathi.

“The government has given the Deputy President his bodyguards again, and now I ask the President to return those who were employed in his office and fired. Justice must be done,” said Kiambu Senator, Karungo wa Thang'wa.

Former Secretary General of UDACleophas Malala, who also attended the service, confirmed that Gachagua has been returned to his guards.

“Yes, it is true,” said the former Kakamega senator.
