Third Year Bachelor of Social Work and Administration Student at Mount University Kenya (MKU) was reported missing on October 14.

The Nation reports that Kajaya traveled 166 kilometers from Thika to Nakuru to meet a man she had known for less than two weeks.

A few days before the trip, Kajaya met the man he did not know in Thika, where they reportedly visited the hospital and did an HIV test.

She returned with new clothes, food, and money, telling her friends that the man she described as rich had gifted her these things.

Kajaya also explained that the man was driving a Range Rover and later gave him a phone worth KSh 11,500 when they met Juja again.

Why did Kajaya travel to Nakuru?

One of her close friends who requested anonymity revealed that the sister told her about the trip to Nakuru.

“I tried to convince him not to travel because they didn't know each other well, but he was adamant,” said the friend.

Kajaya's friend expressed his concern that he did not have any relatives in Nakuru, but Kajaya dismissed the concern and insisted on traveling.

Wearing a green jacket and carrying a pink bag, Kajaya left Thika on October 12 and texted his friend around 5pm to confirm his arrival.

Kajaya made an emergency call in Nakuru

Later that evening, Kajaya reportedly made an emergency call to another mutual friend of theirs, claiming to be stuck at the Nakuru bus station.

According to his explanation, the man had suddenly canceled their plans, and he needed money to return to Nairobi.

A short time later, she called them again telling her friends that the man had come to pick her up and assured them that she was safe.

“Around three o'clock in the night, he called another friend of ours asking him not to sleep or turn off the phone because he planned to return to Nairobi, explaining that he had had an argument with the man,” the friend shared.

That night, Kajaya's friends waited eagerly for his return, but when he failed to reach them again, they thought he had made up with the man.

Kajaya's body was found dumped in a corn field

However, worries grew the next day when Kajaya's phone kept going off and their messages went unanswered.

After trying to find him for more than a day, his friend reported him missing at Makongeni Police Station, Thika.

Shocking news quickly emerged of the discovery of a woman's body in Kiamunyi, Nakuru, and photos of a bag similar to Kajaya's were circulated online.
