Nairobi – Former senator-elect Millicent Omanga has rejected the nomination of the President William Ruto to serve on the board of the Nairobi Rivers Commission.
Why Millicent Omanga rejected William Ruto's job
In a statement published on his X account on Saturday, October 26, Omanga expressed gratitude to the president for appointing him to that important position.
“I am very honored and I am grateful to William Ruto for showing confidence in appointing me to serve in the Rivers Commission Nairobi. It is a great opportunity to be considered for such an important opportunity to improve the environment and public health of our beloved Nairobi,” said Omanga.
However, the Nairobi politician revealed that he will not accept the job for personal reasons.
“After careful consideration, I must respectfully decline the appointment for personal reasons. I remain committed to supporting the efforts to restore Nairobi's rivers and am ready to contribute in any way commensurate with my current responsibilities. Thank you again for this honor and for thinking of me,” he added.
