Murang'a: Man Jailed for 20 Years for Killing and Burying Bishop Pius Muiru's Mother

Murang'a – Ezekiel Saitabu Nakola has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the brutal murder of Grace Wangari Mwangi, the mother of Bishop Pius Muiru.

Nakola committed the heinous crime on March 20, 2017, in Karega sub-location in Kigumo, Murang'a county.

The Murang'a High Court handed down the sentence on Friday, October 25, with Judge Kanyi Kimondo stressing the severity of Nakola's action.

In a statement, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) revealed that Kimondo indicated that Nakola's actions not only killed lives but also caused the victim's family great psychological trauma.

The prosecution, led by AnnPenny Gakumu and Caroline Muriu, presented compelling evidence through the testimony of twelve witnesses.

Although there were no witnesses to the murder or a recorded confession, the circumstances surrounding the case contained evidence that led to Nakola's conviction.

How Nakola killed Wangari

The court heard that Wangari had employed Nakola as a farmer for over a decade before turning on him.

Following his action, the prisoner strategically hid the body in the place where the cow carcass had been buried to hide the evidence.

As part of his cover-up, Nakola also stole from Wangari's account M-Money and took home appliances from his girlfriend's residence in the area.

A Ugandan citizen allegedly killed his female boss

In a separate case, a 64-year-old woman, Rose Muthoni Kariuki, was found dead in her bedroom in the county of Kirinyaga.

His body showed signs of murder, including bruises on his neck, and blood was seen coming from his mouth and nose.

Farm worker Uganda who was employed by the woman is missing and is suspected of fleeing the scene after committing the crime.
