- Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed has stated that he is not among those who want to replace Kithure Kindiki as Minister of Internal Affairs
- He added that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has no intention of putting forward any other member to work with the government
- Junet said that he has now taken the position of the leader of a small party, which is also an important position
Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed has dismissed allegations that the ODM party has submitted his name to the Kenyan government Kwanza to be appointed to replace Kithur Kindiki in the Ministry of the Interior.
This is following President William Ruto appointing Kindiki as his deputy after Rigathi Gachagua was removed from office.
Has Junet Mohamed been proposed to be the Minister of the Interior?
In a statement that TUKO.co.ke has received, Junet said despite wanting to serve the country in leadership positions, he is not looking forward to serving as Internal Security minister.
He called the accusations baseless, while claiming that he is not among those who want the position.
“Although the opportunity to serve Kenyans in any capacity is always welcome, I would like to inform the public that I am not one of the people fighting for the job,” Junet said.
He also explained that the ODM party did not seek to have any other member join the government Kenya First in that role.
Junet, however, said that he has taken the position of the leader of a small party in the National Assembly, which is also important in the country.
Does the ODM party recommend Junet's name for the position of Minister of Internal Affairs?
Junet's statement follows the remarks of Nyaribari Masaba Member of Parliament Daniel Manduku, who claimed that the ODM party recommended Junet to be the most influential candidate for the position of Minister of Internal Affairs.
He pointed out that the final decision belongs to Rutowho is the supreme appointing authority.
