- Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Sarah Elizabeth Metho, Adiambo's sister, said the family struggled to find money to pay for the deceased's hospital bills.
It was a sad day for a family in the city Nairobi while they were resting their loved one who passed away in the hospital due to breathing problems.
Imelda Adhiambo Oduor died at the Wilson Airport Hospital after the doctors' strike, and thus could not receive treatment.
Adhiambo was in and out of the hospital because he had previous epileptic attacks after he was diagnosed at a young age and started experiencing severe weakness.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, her relative, Sarah Elizabeth Metho, said Adhiambo started to get sick after her husband was arrested.
“Her weakness was the result of her husband's arrest, which happened in March last year, where he was remanded. He was rushed to Mathari Hospital as an inpatient after his mental condition deteriorated,” said the sad relative.
Adhiambo's family narrates the challenge of paying hospital bills
He had previously said that they had financial challenges to raise money to pay the hospital bills left by the deceased.
They had to raise money before they were allowed to take the body and bury their loved one.
“For luck good, we were able to collect the balance and give our partner a proper burial. It was short-lived because we had a few hours to collect the money and bury it immediately, but we made it,” he said.

Sarah said her biggest challenge is raising the little children left after their mother died.
“I am a single mother with three children, and now I have four more children to raise. It is difficult and the financial responsibilities are on me, and I do not have a permanent job to take care of them,” he noted.
