Gachagua made the claim on Sunday, October 20, explaining that two attempts were made to kill him, with the first incident occurring Poisonous.

His remarks have sparked anger among the residents of Kisumu, who now say the allegations have adversely affected business in the area.

The residents revealed that Gachagua's remarks have created fear among investors, causing others to flee the city.

Speaking to the media, a resident expressed his concern about the damage caused to Kisumu's reputation, and asked Gachagua to provide more information regarding his alleged poisoning.

“Regarding Rigathi Gachagua, he claims he should have been poisoned here in Kisumu, this has caused business to decline; those who bring goods here are now afraid to come to Kisumu. These days, Kisumu is enjoying a peace that we have never seen since we were born here.

Now, I ask Gachagua to please tell us in which hotel he was allegedly poisoned, and who was planning to poison him. Because every time he says he is a truthful person, now he should come out and say who exactly was planning to poison him, and also where the poison was supposed to come from.” complained the resident.

The local community has also asked Gachagua to apologize to the public for damaging the reputation of Kisumu, which they believe is now affecting the business environment of the area.

In addition, the residents called on the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to thoroughly investigate Gachagua's allegations and hold any criminals accountable.

Gachagua ignores the DCI's call

As previously reported, Gachagua failed to arrive at the DCI headquarters after being called to record information about his alleged murder.

However, instead of attending the DCI session, Gachagua chose to appear at the Milimani Court, where his dismissal case was ongoing.

He spent a lot of time in court, closely following the proceedings as his legal team argued before a three-judge panel in a bid to retain his position as second-in-command.
