Tony Sherman and Candy became an internet sensation after meeting at a protest of opposing the government in June and loving each other.
Three weeks later, they got engaged.
On Sunday, August 25, Tony and Kendi got married in a public ceremony downtown Nairobi.
Their wedding which took place on the busy streets of Nairobi attracted crowds of passers-by and businessmen.
The couple looked lovely, the bride wore a white wedding dress and the groom wore a white African dress with a turban.
Comedian Pastor presided over the ceremony as the couple exchanged vows before celebrating with fans.
What happened to the protest couple?
The lovers have separated, and speaking to TUKO.co.ke, the content producer admitted that he was hurt after his marriage broke up.
“I was really interested in relationship that. I was single when we met. After our wedding, everything went well until recently when Kendi started to look down on me. There are many other things that happened. We broke up last Monday, October 14,” he explained.
The 28-year-old content producer revealed that both their mothers attended their wedding and they moved in together after the wedding.
“I spent KSh 50,000 and a few friends helped me. I also had to pay for our honeymoon because those who had promised to help us did not fulfill their promises.”
TUKO.co.ke reached out to Kendi for comment, but he did not respond. He confirmed through his Facebook account that they are no longer together.
“I am here to confirm that the rumors are true. We have separated. It was an attachment,” he wrote.
The sad man said that at the moment he does not want to find a partner and has focused on his work. “I'm not fit.
He apologized, but I had already made up my mind. He left with his things. Right now, I don't want to rush into a relationship. I want to rest now,” he said.
