Willis Ayieko, who is the Head of Human Resources in the Company Wells Fargohas been missing since Friday afternoon after leaving Nairobi for Gem for a funeral.
He left the city around 7pm but did not return home, raising concerns about his whereabouts.
Ayieko was expected to attend another event in the city Kakamega Saturday, October 18, but he did not arrive.
Evans, Ayieko's nephew, shared his concern with TUKO.co.ke, saying:
“We grew up together, and I can tell you that he's a very nice person, and a lot of people know him. He's loved by a lot of people,” Evans said.
The family has speculated that Ayieko's disappearance could be linked to her position as Human Resources Manager.
With many companies laying off many workers, there are fears that his abduction may be linked to the person he had to fire.
After days of worrying and posting about her disappearance, the family received CCTV footage showing where her car was found.
Ayieko's orange car was found abandoned near a petrol station in Sabatia, but he was not there.
At the time of going to press, detectives from the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) had traveled from Nairobi handle the car for more information.
“It's been hell for us as a family. We hope he's found soon,” Evans said, hoping for a quick resolution to the ordeal.
As the authorities continue their investigation, the family remains hopeful of Ayieko's safe return.
