Nairobi – The sacked Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was brought to court to hear the case of his removal from power.
The request was submitted on Friday, October 18, by his legal representatives while he was hospitalized due to severe chest pain.
Following the presentation of the case, a three-judge bench was formed on Saturday, October 19, and scheduled the trial date for Tuesday, October 22, without notifying Gachagua's lawyers.
On the day of the hearing of the case at the Milimani Court, Gachagua was accompanied by his son Keith Gachagua, who sat beside him while they were hearing the case.
Keith watched the process closely as his father's legal team asked questions about the timing of Saturday's hearing, the transfer of their petition from Kirinyaga, and whether it was sent to the Chief Justice. Martha Koome before that session.
