In an impassioned and emotional sermon during the Sunday service, he accused them of neglecting the needs of the people.

Why Evangelist Teresiah Wairimu is not happy with the Ruto government

Wairimu lamented the failure of the current leadership to address important national issues such as the economy and taxation.

He added that they are focusing on what he called “unimportant things” while Kenyans continue to suffer.

Wairimu, who initially endorsed the President William Ruto as a leader chosen by God, he now admits his faith in the government has decreased.

“I was convinced that this was a government chosen by God,” he admitted during his speech. “Instead of dealing with important issues like the economy and taxes, they are dealing with other things,” he said, his voice laced with frustration and concern.

Pst Wairimu admits the religious leaders were wrong

Wairimu's critical position marks a departure from his previous position as one of the pastors who sincerely supported Ruto's presidential bid.

At that time, he, along with other religious leaders, maintained that God had revealed Ruto as his chosen leader of Kenya.

Now, he admits the church has learned from its “painful” mistakes and vows to make the necessary changes moving forward.

The evangelist's criticism reflects growing discontent among sections of the church as the government faces increasing scrutiny over its performance amid mounting economic challenges.

His remarks come at a time of political turmoil, following the impeachment of the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Gachagua, who was in hospital at the time of the acquittal, left many in shock and confusion.

This was compounded by emotional pictures of his wife, Reverend Dorcas, crying as she was discharged from the hospital and returned home.

The pictures showed him wiping away tears, quite different from the usually composed pastor they know.

In a touching show of solidarity, they took to social media with messages of encouragement and prayers for the Gachaguas.
