Photos of a Kenyan boy graduating from primary school barefoot went viral online and touched the hearts of many.
The boy attended his graduation ceremony without shoes or the decorative clothing that is often worn during such ceremonies.
Evans Kiplagat Moi, who shared the photos, revealed that the boy's mother came out to support her son despite financial difficulties.
The young graduate took another step in his education, but his photos left an indelible mark on those who viewed them online.
Within hours of her photos going viral, good Samaritans flocked to her aid.
Carol Chepsiror, touched by the post, took immediate action and helped restore the boy's dignity by buying him new shoes and other gifts.
It was found that the boy's siblings also needed school uniforms and other basic equipment.
“Go shine, your time is now. God bless you all for your recovery,” Evans wrote, thanking everyone involved.
As the boy embarks on the next chapter of his academic journey, he does so with the encouragement and support of many compassionate people.
In what can best be described as a new dawn, she will walk into her first day of first grade in a new uniform and shoes, ready to embrace her future with pride.
